FIRST JAMAICA INVESTMENTS DELISTING MAKES WAY FOR LISTING OF ADDITIONAL PAN JAMAICAN INVESTMENT TRUST SHARES

KINGSTON, (August 5, 2011): Effective August 5, 2011, the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) will be delisting First Jamaica Investments Limited (FJI) from the Market at the request of the FJI Board of Directors and in accordance with Section 411 of the JSE’s Rules. The stock was suspended from trading on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 to facilitate this process.
FJI will be amalgamated into Pan Jamaican Investment Trust Limited (Pan Jam) as a result of both sets of shareholders’ acceptance of a scheme of arrangement for merger. FJI shareholders are to be allocated ordinary shares in Pan Jam in exchange for their current holdings.
The JSE has been informed that it is Pan Jam’s intention to apply for the supplemental listing of the newly issued stock units by Monday, August 8, 2011, thereby allowing trading in the newly issued Pan Jam stocks to commence.
