Desnoes and Geddes announced that in the future it will focus solely on the development of its beer and stout portfolio in pursuit of its aim to become a truly world class brewing company.
To enable this level of focus, it has agreed to sell its soft drink business and license the D&G soft drink brands to Pepsi Americas. This new arrangement will become effective December 1, 1999. This move will see Pepsi, one of the world’s most powerful soft drink companies, investing directly in production in Jamaica for the first time and will secure the future of the D&G soft drinks business locally as well as overseas.
